hawkeye978 > It's one month into summer, so in New England we are starting to worry about it ending. The daylillies are spectacular so I'll share whenever possible.
hawkeye978 > I like this one because of the effect. This picture was taken about 30 minutes after sunset. It was pretty dark. It was just me, the camera, a tripod, and about 50,000 mosquitoes. You can see in the EXIF information that this is an 8 second exposure but the lighting that results is really striking. Camera was set to aperture priority to force long exposure.
hawkeye978 > Life is hard when you're the paddle boat operator. Have to catch some time for yourself whenever you can.

Redondo Beach pier. The colors and angles caught my attention.
hawkeye978 > I have been playing with this for a couple of days off and on and need to stop before I go crazy.

I had some odd light that I was trying to capture. A front was coming and it was approaching dusk so there was bright and dark around. Tried to get the feeling with this, don't know if I accomplished anything but at least I can pretend to stop now. This is an old mill converted to condos. The stream was used to power the mill way back when. The granite wall in the front was part of an old sluice that directed the water into and then again out of the mill to power the equipment.
hawkeye978 > This is at a pond on the way to work. Somewhat cloudy and a little fog, so adjusted colors to get the sky to show in the water.
hawkeye978 > A taste of New England at Christmas. This is the town common. This was taken the day before we received another foot of snow so today it's even more 'festive'.

hawkeye978 > And now for something completely different....train art.

We have a lot of active train tracks in town and always have cars sitting waiting for pickup. Pretty much all of them have been decorated, some more involved than this.
hawkeye978 > Trying to be simple (in my pictures, not in my head, I think..). The mornings are getting routinely cold but because of the warm Fall we still have color. This is just a small oak not more than about 2 feet tall.
